Brian Russell Costume Race – March 4, 2022

Brian Russell Costume Race

Friday, March 4, 2022

4-7 p.m. AKST at Alyeska Resort

As longer days return, we look forward to lots more training and racing remaining in the season including this upcoming weekend with the Brian Russell Costume Race. This event is more of spectacle than a race and is OPEN TO EVERYONE! It is a very fun dual format course for all ages and is a fundraiser for the Brian Russell Scholarship Foundation.

Please register directly through our TeamSnap page:

Proceeds from the entry fee go back into the Brian Russell Foundation for future scholarships.

The race will be Town League style dual format on Tanaka and you DO NOT need a USSS license to participate. We’ve seen some creative obstacle courses in the past and it’s always a surprise what the coaches come up with!

  • 3:30 p.m. – Check in at the Bib Room at the RTC to verify registration.
  • 4 p.m. – Courses open and costume judging begins.

The club will purchase pizza but we are asking that you bring a side salad or dessert. You can sign up here for potluck items and to volunteer to set-up and clean-up the kitchen, collect bibs or judge the costumes:

Once everyone has had an opportunity for two runs, prizes will be awarded for the ten best costumes. There are some great prizes, so work hard on your costumes! Our amazingly creative Caroline Ahrens has done it once again with creations for our top five costume winners!

The 2022 Brian Russell Scholarship winners will also be announced!
